Poetry Editor
Volunteer (appx 15 hrs/quarter)
Job Description
We are currently looking for someone who is passionate about literary arts as a modality to increase wellbeing and healing, who has publishing experience but as a writer and/or editor to join our team as the Assistant Poetry Editor.
This is a volunteer, remote position which requires approximately 20 hours per quarter.

Responsibilities
Works with the Managing Editor & Assistant Poetry Editor to

Closely read, review, edit and select entries for each issue

Accurately input selected poems into journal platform
-
Support and help promote the journal though your own networks and social media

Requirements

Experience working with a diverse team and audience

Published writer
-
Successful in copywriting and editing
-
Working knowledge of online platforms like LucidPress and Submittable
-
Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and people skills
-
Reliability and efficiency
-
Attention to detail
-
Keep information confidential and not use for personal/professional advancement
-
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with little oversight
-
Passion for poetry, creativity, and the connection with art and healing
-
Commit to at least a one year cycle (Jan-Dec 2022)
Ideal as well but not required

MFA in poetry or creative writing or relevant experience
-
Participate in meetings including annual retreat (virtual option)
